One of the first steps in living a healthy lifestyle is to change behavior. Changing behavior often takes significant effort and dedication. First is to identify the behavior that needs to change. Knowing where you stand may help you meet and maintain your goals.
Question: Where do you fit in this process?
Stage 1:
Pre-contemplation: At this stage, you don't see no problem with your behavior. Therefore, not considering a change or no intention of changing.
Stage 2:
Contemplation: At this stage you admit that change is needed. You weigh the Pros and Cons of changing or not.
Stage 3:
Preparation: At this point you are preparing to change a specific behavior by taking initial steps, and setting some goals.
Stage 4:
Action: You have committed time and energy to making a change. You are following a plan set for a specific behavior change.
Stage 5:
Maintenance: You are striving to integrate the new behavior into daily life and striving to make it permanent.
Stage 6:
Adoption/Moving on: Your former behavior is gone, and the new behavior is your daily routine. Time to move on to other goals.
